I am delighted to announce that Royal Mountain Travel, Nepal has now joined Indian Experiences. A company that firmly follows our principles that people, planet and place are all as important as profit.
I have previously worked on a couple of projects with them, the first in 2020, and have always been impressed by their constant innovation. Their founder Shiva Dhakal is a true pioneer in his field.
Their philosophy “Driving Community Change through travel”, is one they live by. It is the first time in any destination that I have been collected by a female ‘road captain,’ Shanti Ghising and in an electric vehicle! (This service is currently available in Kathmandu only).They have a passion to offer visitors something different, beyond the mainstream, with genuine experiences designed with an eye for positive impact. They focus on women empowerment, local economic opportunities and are working to develop new destinations.
Shiva also established the Community Homestay Network with a vision to create 1000 entrepreneurs throughout Nepal with women running homestays in rural villages throughout Nepal. More on this to follow!
Then there’s the small matter of a Travelife Certified hotel in Kathmandu and their own wellness centre too.
